Glass E-Chips
Making a tiny piece of research equipment (about the size of an easer head), huge and impactful with 3D modeling and design.
Process
This project required immense communication with Protochips’ engineering team and applications scientist to understand every element of this product and how it’s used. Dissecting every material, measurement, and angle, was crucial for producing an accurate model.
Recreated from engineering files, each part of the chip was reconstructed to exact dimensions to be better captured in 3D. Each material was adjusted to perform realistically in light simulation environments.
The last phase of this project was putting the chips in context with the ex-situ characterization cell. Creating these additional renders supported the products story and explanations of application.
